Making Pizzas!
The children love to bake their own snacks, and they had an exciting time making their own pizzas.
We used shaped cutters, such as stars, flowers, and hearts for the base of our pizzas, and then spread some delicious tomato sauce on top and finished it off with some tasty cheese. They tasted great! What do you like on your pizza?
Doing Some Planting
Being able to plant our own flowers and plants gives the children a fantastic opportunity to learn the process of how plants grow and watch how they changed shape and size. And it means they get to play with the soil!
Scooping it up with various garden tools including, mini shovels and little forks into our plant pots.
How big do you think our plants will grow?
Time with Friends
The children from both the Ladybird Room and the Bumblebee Room love spending time with their friends. Playing games together, doing fun activities with each other and enjoying learning as a group.
The children benefit so much from interacting with their friends, developing their social skills and further enhancing friendships.
Praticing our Spreading Skills
For this snack time the children practiced spreading jam onto their own pieces of bread. They very carefully used their knives to scoop up some jam from the jar and then spread it all over their bread! It made a very tasty snack!
And it really helped with further developing their fine motor skills.
Sensory Play
Sensory play can be any activity that really stimulates the senses. It can be something with a soft and fluffy texture, a really crunchy thing to crumple up in their hands, or something sticky and slimy to squash and squeeze.
Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. Which can help develop and enhance memory function or help calm an anxious or frustrated child.
