Creative Collaboration in the Hedgehog Room

The children in the Hedgehog Room have been immersed in a vibrant and collaborative art project. Working together on a large piece of card, they explored a variety of painting techniques and tools, sharing ideas and materials as they created a colourful and expressive mural.

The children experimented with painting their hands to make handprints, and used sticks, brushes, and other objects to make marks in different ways. They chose their own colours and discovered how new shades emerged as they mixed paints together, sparking curiosity and conversation about colour and texture.

This joyful and creative experience supports several areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), particularly in Expressive Arts and Design, where children are encouraged to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials. It also nurtures Communication and Language as they shared their thoughts and ideas, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development through cooperative play and shared decision-making.

The finished artwork will be proudly displayed at our End of Year Celebration Picnic on Wednesday 16th July. We look forward to sharing this beautiful piece with families and celebrating the children’s creativity and teamwork.
