Our Friends Group
Our weekly parent group offers an opportunity for parents/carers from our school community to come together in a space where they feel welcome and safe.
The group is based around the 5 Ways to Wellbeing which suggest there are 5 steps you can take to help improve your mental health and wellbeing. This group supports wellbeing and good mental health and encourages connection using a trauma informed approach.
Connect
We recognise that connection is crucial to good mental health and wellbeing. The group supports parents/carers to connect with each other and the whole nursery school community in ways which fell safe to them.
Be Active
We encourage each other to get active but understand this is easier for some of us than others. We enjoy finding out what our friends do to keep active. Some of us enjoy the gym, some like to walk, some enjoy gardening. We all know that being active helps to reduce stress and maintain good mental health.
Take Notice
We actively listen and take notice of each other and ourselves by being present and in the moment during the group. We take notice of our own and each other’s feelings.
Keep Learning
We invite visitors to our group so that we can learn new things, we know that learning new things can boost our self-esteem. We also learn from each other when we share our own personal stories.
Give
We hope the group gives our parents/carers a forum to be kind to themselves and others, to build relationships and to share their experience.
