Transitions and Moves across the School

All children leaving the school to start their Reception Year in September will be involved in the transition to school focus this term. Teachers from the receiving schools have been visiting their new children and visits to new schools have been planned. It is a busy time and we know that lots of information is often overwhelming – children and families can feel a mix of excitement and uncertainty. The staff team are here to help and answer any questions or worries you may have about your child starting school. Please come and talk to us.

Stay and Play Sessions – Getting Ready for September 2026

We have planned Stay and Play sessions for all new children to the school and children moving up to Early Years 3 in September.

These are on Tuesday 21st (for under 3s new children) and Wednesday 22nd July (for new nursery children and movers from Ladybird and Bumblebee rooms) just before the summer break.

This will be a chance to meet the room teams and book a date for a home visit in September.

There will also be an Admissions Fair with various stalls including support with form completion, uniform items for sale, packed lunch information and much more.

Changing Weather

As the weather is changing it is important to dress your child appropriately for the warmer season, remembering to label your child’s items of clothes to avoid any loss.

We spend lots of time in the garden so it is really important to ensure the children are covered, sun cream applied, and a hat provided. It is really important that the children have spare clothes (especially socks) as we do a lot of water play.

TESCO Fruit Donation

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to Jo and Theresa (Nellie’s nanny) from the Whitchurch TESCO branch for their very kind donation of fruit for all of the children. This kind donation will arrive every month to help the children explore food in line with our Food and Nutrition Policy and the Eatwell Guide.

Your Holiday Hub Summer Bookings

Children and young people in Bristol who receive benefits-related free school meals can book free activities during the summer holidays.

There are lots of sessions and trips to choose from across the city, so families can find activities that suit their interests.

Bookings open on Monday 8 June.

Families can search activities and book online here.

Goodbyes and Celebrations

We will be saying goodbye to many children at the end of term and we all wish them good luck in their new schools and settings.

To celebrate the end of year we shall be holding a Family Celebration picnic for everyone on Wednesday 15th July in the afternoon.
