Spring Sunshine and Outdoor Adventures in Bumblebee Room!

Bumblebee Room at Knowle West Nursery School has been making the most of the spring sunshine with some wonderful outdoor learning, and what a brilliant week it has been!

The children have been busy practising their balancing skills on the stilts, working on coordination and confidence with every wobbly step. In the outdoor kitchen, there has been lots of mixing and combining with mud, sand and water, which is fantastic for early scientific thinking and sensory exploration. Playdough has been a hit too, with the children using knives to develop their cutting skills in a fun and purposeful way.

Music has been filling the garden as well, with the children making their own sounds and singing together, and the spider web has sparked some great conversations about positional language, talking about going under and over as they climb and explore. All of this has been rounded off with a variety of mark-making activities outdoors, giving the children the chance to practise early writing skills in the fresh air.
